Former India cricketers Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Ramesh Powar have been appointed as the permanent batting and bowling coach respectively at the National Cricket Academy. According to a BCCI official, the two former cricketers were appointed, on Tuesday, by the Committee of Administrators.

The Supreme Court-appointed CoA cleared the appointments of the two former cricketers, Ramesh Powar and Hrishikesh Kanitkar, who have been part of the National Cricket Academy set-up for quite some time now.

They will report to NCA’s Director of Cricket, Rahul Dravid, and amongst their various responsibilities, they'll have to tour with various representative teams such as India A, India U-19 or India U-23 whenever asked to.

“The positions have been vacant for a while now and the CoA has now decided to clear the appointments. This is a permanent appointment,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by the Sportstar.

Powar, a former coach of the India Women's cricket team, was appointed the bowling coach of India A men’s team for its series against South Africa A in August. Kanitkar has the experience of coaching Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy and has been a prolific asset with the NCA for a while now.
