ICC World Cup 2019 | India to wear Orange jerseys for “away” games

For the World Cup, England released their new jersey with Blue being the dominant colour. That created a bit of problem as India, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan also have blue as their preferred colour, which according to the ICC rule book, is not right. 

According to the ICC rulebook, “For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event, the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match."

Now, it is expected that India may have a different jersey dominated by orange for the matches against England and Afghanistan. Considering the fact that Sri Lanka has been named as the away side for the India game, India will get the traditional blue jersey. Times Now has reported that the yet-to-be-released jersey will be of darker blue shade in the front, whereas orange will dominate the sleeves as well as the back.
