After making it to the 22-man side, the likes of Niroshan Dickwella, Danushka Gunathilaka, and Lakshan Sandakan have missed the cut for the Sri Lanka squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh. So all in all, there are five changes to the team that played in the World Cup.

After being ignored for the ICC World Cup, Akila Dhananjay and Niroshan Dickwella returned to the 22-man extended squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh but the former once again missed the cut as the team decided to trim it. For the final team, Dickwella, Danushka Gunathilaka, Lakshan Sandakan, Lahiru Madushanka and Amila Aponso failed to find a spot as Sri Lanka will try to reverse their fortunes against Bangladesh.

The final team has a total of five changes to the squad that travelled to England for the World Cup, with Shehan Jayasuriya, Wanindu Hasaranga, Akila Dananjaya, and Lahiru Kumara coming in. The composition of the squad has been arranged to give Malinga a farewell and Dasun Shanaka is set to play from the second ODI onwards as a replacement for the pacer.

The trio of Jayasuriya, Kumara and Hasaranga stand a good chance of being included in the side for the first ODI after impressing in the warm-up game against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Dananjaya, being the only specialist spinner in the squad, will almost certainly feature.

Sandakan and Madushanka may count themselves as unfortunate to have missed out considering the fact that Sandakan wasn't even named in warm-up side despite being in the 22-member side. Meanwhile, Madushanka, who has impressed with the emerging team, was available to play but featured neither as a bowler nor batsman.

Sri Lanka's finalised squad for Bangladesh ODIs: Dimuth Karunaratne (capt), Kusal Perera, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Lahiru Thirimanne, Shehan Jayasuriya, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Akila Dananjaya, Amila Aponso, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Pradeep, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara, Thisara Perera, Isuru Udana.
