After their historic win over Australia in the recently-concluded Test series, India has retained the top spot in the ICC Test rankings which were released on Monday. The Virat Kohli-led Indian team defeated Australia 2-1 in the four-match Test series which concluded last Monday in Sydney.

The Indian team is currently leading the list of the Test teams in the ICC rankings with a total of 116 points to its name. South Africa, on the other hand, defeated Pakistan 3-0 at home and as a result of which they have climbed up to the second position of the recently-released list. They have overtaken New Zealand and England and are currently with 110 points, a couple of points more than the Englishmen.

England and New Zealand are currently placed at the third and fourth position with 108 and 107 points respectively. The Englishmen will now look forward to winning the three-match series against the Windies to stay above the Kiwis in the list.

After losing the home series to the Indian side, the Kangaroos are with 101 points and are at the fifth position, 10 points ahead of the Lankans who are at the sixth place of the team rankings.

Pakistan has fallen a position below after the 3-0 whitewash against the Proteas as the Lankans have got past them in the rankings. The Pakistanis started the series against South Africa with 92 points but have lost three to fall behind their Asian opponents.
