VIDEO | Marcus Stoinis nods his head in awe after being beaten by Qais Ahmad’s magical delivery

It is not uncommon to see batsmen praising the bowlers after being dismissed by some stunning deliveries, but Marcus Stoinis didn’t waste any time in doing that. After Qais Ahmad bowled a ripper of a delivery to Stoinis and the latter was left hugely impressed by the Afghanistan spinner.

Hobart Hurricanes may have dominated the tournament from the outset, but they faltered at the business end, and the result was almost a given after the end of the first innings. Melbourne Stars dominated the show and when Marcus Stoinis came out to bat, he batted with a free spirit before being dismissed with a peach of a delivery.

On the penultimate ball of the seventh over, Qais Ahmad pitched the ball around the middle and the leg-break drew Stonis forward with the turn and forced him to get into the defensive push position. It ended up spinning past the outside edge and the Victoria batsman didn’t have any other option than holding his bat onto it and hoping that it would not spin further near his leg.

However, Ahmad’s delivery had all Rashid Khan type magic attached to it as it kept on moving in the reverse direction and ended up hitting the off-stump, leaving all and sundry surprised with the quality of the delivery. Stoinis, who was in splendid form coming into the match, was indeed a big wicket and one that put life to the rubber and Ahmad was naturally elated by that.

While he went on a flying celebration mode, Stoinis was completely surprised by that and after getting hold of the tragedy that had just struck him, he nodded in appreciation of the magical delivery before returning back to the pavilion.
