Former cricketers to discuss 'conflict of interest' issue at BCCI headquarters on Monday

Conflict of Intrest has become a hot topic of discussion lately, as every small involvement of cricketers are coming to bite them from behind, with BCCI ethics officer sending notice to almost every former player applying for the position. In what comes as a good story, former cricketers will discuss the issue at length at the BCCI headquarters on Monday. Several top cricketers are expected to attend the meeting while at least one Committee of Administrators (CoA) member will be present in the meeting.

The Times of India also reported that former India batsman Dilip Vengsarkar and pacer Ajit Agarkar would attend the meeting along with the likes of VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid. However, Sachin Tendulkar will not attend the meeting as will Harbhajan Singh, who has already shot off a letter to the Board giving his views on the subject.

Recently, Sanjeev Gupta, a life member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, sent a complaint to the CoA that Dravid is conflicted because of his dual role with National Cricket Academy director and role of vice-president of the India Cements Group, which owns the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. However, the CoA has cleared Dravid's appointment as Head of Cricket at the NCA, ruling that there is "no conflict of interest" case against him.

Meanwhile, the process to select the support staff of the Indian cricket team will begin at the BCCI headquarters on Monday and will go on till Thursday in the chairmanship of MSK Prasad who will conduct the interviews. While Bharat Arun and R Sridhar might retain their jobs as bowling and fielding coach, Sanjay Bangar could face the sack.
