According to a statement released by the BCCI, Hardik Pandya is diagnosed with a lower back injury. He is out of the field at the moment in the India vs Pakistan game of the ongoing Asia Cup and the board has stated that he is able to stand and the medical team is assessing him.

The Indian all-rounder was seen lying on the ground in the 18th over and looked in a lot of problems after completing his follow-through on the fifth delivery of his fifth over. It looked like he slipped and fell on the ground after the delivery. He tried to get his hand around the lower back/ hip region while lying on the ground. For a moment, it seemed like he fell down due to the heat wave in Dubai.

The Indian physio Patrick Farhat came on the ground to attend him and he looked in a lot of pain and even struggled to get up. A stretcher was called in to carry the all-rounder out of the boundary. Part-timer Ambati Rayudu was called to complete the 18th over.

"Hardik Pandya has an acute lower back injury. He is able to stand at the moment, and the medical team is assessing him now," BCCI wrote in an official statement.
