The Sri Lankan Cricket Board has announced their 15-member squad for their third-round encounter of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship series against India. The board has recalled veteran all-rounder Udeshika Prabodhani, while regular captain Chamari Athapaththu will return to lead the side in the three-match series that she missed out on the recent Asia Cup in Malaysia due to dengue.
Prabodhani toured with the national team in the Caribbean for the inaugural round of the 2017-20 Championship cycle, which Sri Lanka lost by a crushing score of 3-0. She played only one game and was overlooked for subsequent home series against Pakistan which the Lankans again lost by the same margin as they did against the Windies.
The points from the three ODIs will be counted towards the Championship standings and will be played on September 11, 13, and 16. Sri Lanka currently are at the bottom of the eight-team table. The ODI series will be followed by a five-match T20I series, which will begin on September 19.
