Kuldeep Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan highest gainers in latest ICC T20 rankings

Kuldeep Yadav has achieved a career-best ranking of No. 3 in the bowler's list after he managed to pick four wickets during in the recently concluded three-match series. Shikhar Dhawan also rose five places to reach a personal best of No. 11 in the batting rankings scoring 76 and 41 in two games.

Team India kept their cool to register a win in the third and final T20I against Australia to maintain their unbeaten run in the shorter format of the game. Virat Kohli starred with the bat for the visitors as he returned to his very best in an unbeaten 61* in Sydney. India’s latest exploits have seen some of their top performers make some significant jumps in the latest ICC T20I rankings.

Amongst the bowlers, Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has jumped 20 places to number three in the bowlers table after he picked up 4 wickets in the three games against Australia. The spinner usurped Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar to enter the top three bowlers in the shorter format. While Aussie counterpart, Adam Zampa, moved 17 places up the list to number five behind England’s Adil Rashid.

On the batsman’s list, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan is the biggest mover up the table as he moved up five places from 16th to achieve a career-best ranking of No. 11. The left-handed batsman registered scores of 76 and 41 in the two matches against Australia which saw him make a significant jump on the table. KL Rahul is the highest ranked Indian batsman at number six followed by Rohit Sharma at nine, Dhawan at 11 and Virat Kohli at number 14.

On the all rounders list, Glenn Maxwell held onto the top spot after he impressed in the first game against India at the Gabba in Brisbane. Maxwell is followed by Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi and Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh. 

Babar Azam of Pakistan is the number-one ranked batsman, while Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is the top-ranked bowler. The latest player rankings include player performances in the one-off T20I between Australia and South Africa and the T20I series between Australia and India.
