He has also led India to the final of the Champions Trophy, ODI series victories over England, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Australia, New Zealand and Test series wins over Bangladesh, Australia and Sri Lanka (twice).

Virat Kohli’s idol Sachin Tendulkar, who wrote the profile for the magazine, described that the former's hunger for runs and consistency has become his trademark. Tendulkar remembered when he watched Virat Kohli for the first time leading India and he was amazed by the passion of the young man. The Master Blaster has also stated that the U-19 cricket world cup always carries a lot of importance for India, as it would define the next bunch of youngsters who would go on to represent the nation.

Sachin wrote, "That was the first time I watched this young, passionate player lead India. Today, Virat Kohli is a household name and a champion in cricket. Even back then, his hunger for runs and consistency was remarkable, something that has become the hallmark of his game."

The 44-year-old legend also recalled Kohli’s West Indies journey where he was failed as a batsman.

"Virat took the criticism he faced during a disappointing West Indies series and returned home with a goal: to improve not only his technique, but also his fitness level. He's never looked back," Sachin penned.
