India suffered a crushing seven-wicket defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka yesterday and were surprisingly not up to the standards of the game as they were against Pakistan. The Indian batting lineup once again fired to take India past their second consecutive 300-mark courtesy a scintillating 125-run knock by Shikhar Dhawan followed by some amazing hitting from MS Dhoni.
However, India's lacklustre bowling and fielding cost them the match as Sri Lanka chased down the colossal target of 322 runs with eight balls to spare thanks to Danushka Gunathilaka and Kusal Mendis' 159-run stand.
Former English captain Michael Vaughan expressed his emotions during the last final overs of the match via his Twitter handle where he was seen mocking the Indian fielding and bowling as he hailed Sri Lanka for their splendid chase.
The seasoned Indian bowling lineup was battered mercilessly by the Sri Lankan batsmen which prompted skipper Virat Kohli to take on the charge even with the ball. Vaughan then pointed out the obvious through his tweet.
You know when Virat has a bowl your team are up sh#t Creek !!!!!

India's bowling was so disappointing in the tie that two out of three Sri Lankan batsmen were run out due to their own faults and the 42-year old noted that maybe that's what India can try to clinch a win.
India desperately require 7 Run Outs ......
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan)
Vaughan then questioned Indian skipper Virat Kohli's field placement in the match as the Englishman found it too predictable for Sri Lanka to pierce.
India in the field have been Tactically very very Poor ....... Far too predictable .....

India's loss against Sri Lanka came as the second upset in the tournament after underdog Pakistan defeated South Africa on Wednesday.
Egg on Face for 2 days running ... !!!! But I don't mind when you see games like that ... Sri Lanka were tremendous....
