Jason Holder attributes Windies win against India to the bowlers

The Windies bowlers put on a great show with the skipper Jason Holder himself spearheading the attack to restrict the batting-heavy India to 178 to keep their hopes in the series alive.

The home team bowled brilliantly to keep the Indian batsmen in check and piled up the pressure on the Men in Blue resulting in wickets at regular intervals. The West Indian bowlers bowled with a plan to each Indian batsman which was highlighted when Virat Kohli was dismissed while playing a short delivery that the home team kept bowling persistently at him. Jason Holder finished with figures of 5/27 for which he was rewarded with the man of the match award.

Holder acknowledged the bowling performance and singled out Kesrick Willaims, who finished with figures of 1/29 from his quota of 10 overs, for a word of praise.

"Extremely pleased with the guys. It took a big effort and credit to all the bowlers. It shows if we believe, we can compete. We spoke to bowl into the wicket. India's top-order has done the scoring and we were looking to get a few early wickets. In his second game, Williams showed a lot of maturity,"Holder said in the post-match conference.

However, the skipper expressed concerns over the batting performance of the home team who have consecutively scored below the 200-mark in two games while scoring 206 in the second ODI on a good wicket.

" It (batting) is an area of concern. 250 is a par score, but we have another game to turn it around. I always believe in myself. I have been bowling well so far, the only criticism is with my batting. We have to show the fight. Put our minds to it and the rewards will come." he concluded.
