Sri Lanka’s repeated interruptions on the second day of the Delhi Test didn’t go down well with the Indian players and team management. The visiting players were seen wearing masks while fielding and some had, reportedly, vomited in the dressing room, unable to handle the polluted air inside Feroz Shah Kotla.
The proceedings had even left Virat Kohli annoyed, which was quite visible when he animatedly called up his boys after the first innings while signalling declaration. However, the Indian skipper is known for his hard work and fitness, and he couldn’t stop himself from applauding Sadeera Samawaickarma, who exhibited both to pull off an unbelievable piece of fielding.
It was during India’s second innings in the 47th over of Day 4, when Rohit Sharma nailed a front foot pull off Suranga Lakmal’s poor short delivery. The ball was airborne, and was heading towards the mid-wicket boundary for another four runs for the hosts before Sadeera threw himself at full stretch to attempt a world-class catch. It would have been a mind-boggling catch had he taken it, but he could only stop the boundary with his valiant effort. It was commended equally by both the Sri Lanka players and the Delhi crowd on the stands, but the real compliment came when Virat Kohli decided to stop and tap his bat to applaud the effort.
The gesture was loved by one and all and Twitter erupted in admiration.
Here are the funny tweets from today's play:Take note of this Sri Lanka team!
Kohli applauding the opposition's fielding effort mid-innings. May be Sri Lanka could learn some sportsman spirit from him.

Delhi's smog is an advertisement for HD. Unless, I am watching HD, I can't really make out anything!

Did she just predict the future?
Surely SL is going to resort to a lot of time-wasting tactics tomorrow given the position India will leave them in. You'll have more players reporting breathing troubles, stomach upsets, muscle pulls and so on. Par for the course for the shitty side they are.
