IPL 2016: RCB replace injured Mitchell Starc with Chris Jordan

Jordan picked up 6 wickets in the WorldT20 that ended earlier this month, enhancing his reputation as a death bowler in the shortest format of the game.

After having a niggling elbow problem himself, Jordan is likely to feature for the Bangalore-based franchise when they take to the field on Saturday. But the Sussex bowler also has aspirations to make it into the Test squad and with England starting off their Test season against Sri Lanka in May, Jordan would be hoping he continues to impress so as to strengthen his case for selection in the squad.

However, English players on Test duty need to report on May 6, while the non-test players have to report to the UK by May 17. RCB would be hoping Jordan leaves on the latter date.

The ECB director, and former England opener, Andrew Strauss was supportive of Jordan. “We are happy to support Chris in his decision to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2016. Participating in the tournament will be a good opportunity for him to further develop his white-ball skills and experience," Strauss was quoted as saying by the Guardian.
