Mishra case: Woman softens stand, does not want cricketer to “suffer too much”

Mishra had been booked for alleged assault of the woman in his hotel room in Bengaluru last month when he was in the city for a National training camp. The cricketer, who is a member of the ODI and Test teams that is playing the visiting South Africans, has been summoned by the Bengaluru police for questioning. 

On a complaint from the woman, Mishra has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 328 (causing hurt with intent to commit an offence). Mishra has been summoned to appear before the police in a week’s time.
