PCB hints at boycotting T20 World Cup in India

Addressing the media after the PCB Board of Governors meeting, Shaharyar Khan said "BCCI's refusal to play the series in UAE has no justification. We will not go to India for the series, that's for sure." When asked about the consequences of not playing India, Khan stressed that Pakistan will survive without playing India as per The Tribune. “We can survive without them. We won’t get the bonus but we will be fine”.

Pakistan’s participation in the 2016 T20 World Cup also hangs in the balance after Khan hinted about a possible withdrawal from the tournament. "(It is) premature to say anything about going to India for the World T20. We will decide about it after consulting the government," he was quoted as saying to PakPassion.net.

The two boards had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding to play six bilateral series in the next eight years. TheBCCI, however, later rejected Pakistan’s proposal of a series in UAE sighting the Indian government’s objection and invited Pakistan for a bilateral series in India in December.
